Surprisingly Effective Odor Control
I wanted to try persimmon soap before having my elderly parents use it during visits. I don’t personally have an odor issue, so I initially wasn’t sure how much I’d be able to say about its odor-control properties. After having my teens use it, though, I have a much better answer.The round bar produces a nice, thick lather and leaves the skin feeling clean, with a light citrus scent. The scent doesn’t linger for very long, which I actually prefer in a body soap. The biggest surprise was how well it worked for my teens. They normally make it pretty obvious when a shower has been skipped, but after using this soap, their odor was controlled well enough that I actually had to have them mark the calendar when they showered because I couldn’t tell whether they had or hadn’t. Based on that experience, I can say the odor-control effect was noticeable.For me, the soap was more drying than I prefer. I have sensitive, eczema-prone skin, and while it did not cause irritation, it did leave my skin noticeably drier. Because of that, I’ll be going back to my usual eczema-friendly soap for myself.Longevity-wise, the bar I started using should easily last me three to four weeks. One thing I noticed is that it softened and became somewhat mushy rather than simply dissolving cleanly, although that may be related to the natural oils and repeated exposure to water in the shower.Overall, I think this soap does a good job of cleansing and controlling odor, and it has worked particularly well for my teens. For my sensitive skin, the drying effect means it isn’t something I’d use regularly, but I’m pleased with how effective it has been for the household.

Better Than Standard Grocery Store Deodorant Soaps
Set name: Oval SoapBeing human, I have my share of generated funky odors that need removed on a regular basis. I’ve always depended on some of the standard deodorant soaps one would find in your local grocery store. Had my favorite, but since I’ve been using persimmon soap, I’ve totally switched over as I find that it’s not only more natural, but works better for me. Plus, now that I’m in my senior years, it helps to keep me from emitting those nonenal odors that are commonly generated by older folks. Persimmon soap is about the only thing that can remove those and this one does so quite well. Besides that, it’s also very good at removing foul smells from all of those body parts that excel at stinking up your body in particular places. You know, like that nasty stink foot. For those specific areas, I always use the shampoo method of cleansing, rinsing and then repeat just to ensure a more thorough refreshing cleaning.These are lovely bars of soap in an oval shape which I really like. Feels good in the hand and just looks nice. Love the pretty floral impression along the top too. The soap itself does have a light and refreshing soft scent. More of a soft acidic fruit which I assume is the persimmon. Not heavy though so it shouldn’t bother most, unless they are scent intolerant. Personally, I find the scent to be refreshing.While using, the soap lathers up well to ensure that you can easily spread this across your body. Cleans you up nicely and feels somewhat moisturizing. Although I do have to admit that I often use a couple different bars while bathing as I love all sorts of soaps and spa products. Basically, I use one bar for deodorizing and another for moisturizing. This soap is versatile enough that you can easily use just this one for the entire family’s needs, but I love that extra bit of pampering. If I were to opt for only one of the two, I’d go for this one because of how well it cleans and leaves me smelling fresh as a daisy for hours on end.So far, the soap itself tends to last about as long as most regular soaps. It will melt away on you if left in a soap dish of water, but when placed properly, you’ll get plenty of use out of each bar.If you think this is something that you might benefit from, this is certainly well worth trying. Especially since the current price is quite good at $8.39 (today’s price) for 6 full sized bars of soap. Suitable for the entire family, from kids to seniors. Especially helpful for hardworking and playing men and boys, but gentle enough to please the ladies too.

Great Soap!
Regarless of it’s ability to “get rid of old person’s smell” it is marvelous soap. Light scent (not perfumey) that goes away quickly after you shower, and a luxurios emollient-laden soap that makes your skin feel great. We are switching to this soap for regular use even though we originally purchased it for my mother!

Nice bar soap! It’s a good size. Maybe slightly thicker than a standard bar of soap. It has a unique fragrance. I assume I am smelling the persimmon but I am unfamiliar with the smell so I am guessing. I do like it though! It lathers up well and fully rinses off without leaving behind any residue feeling. I like soap that washes off clean like that! It leaves you feeling nice and clean. This soap is quite effective at leaving me feeling clean.I have found this soap to be gentle on my skin so far. I’ve been using it to wash my hands as well as showering with it too. I find that using bar soap to wash my hands is so much more gentle on my skin than liquid soaps. Using bar soap, especially in the winter, helps a ton in not making my hands so chapped and dry.Value for the money is good for 6 bars of soap. Happy with my order!
